There are quite a number of
debates going on 'whom to blame?' for the situation we are in. But
before all this, let us start with 'YOU'.
Don't worry, this is not the same old 'You should do your part' stuff. But
before being panicked that things are wrong etc, ask yourself 'What am I
unhappy with?'
Coming to myself, I am unhappy
with the VAT (value added tax) row
in my food bills! From what I learned in my secondary school mathematics is
that S.P=C.P + profit, but now its equal to C.P + depreciation costs (that is
damage to the goods over time) + other costs + profit. We, the end
consumers need to pay for the depreciation and also the other costs. Don't
these come under the cost of production? But what to do, we are in need so
there is no other go! We have to pay these. Hold this topic here.
Coming to my next issue, as a kid I loved the smell of petroleum, but as
I grew up I came to know how much we Indians love petrol! Unfortunately, we
don't have enough of it so importing has to be done. Major assets of the
government are being paid to clear these import bills! Then, repeats the
same old story, ‘HIKE IN PETROL PRICES’. We all are in such a situation where
we ask the auto wala twice whether he really wants you to pay by the meter when
he says so just to confirm. You see the ‘other costs’ written in bold up there in the second para, rise
in petrol costs are proportional to those other costs because the food items are
being transported across India through petrol/diesel dependent vehicles. So
here is a small solution to my problems and also to those who have the same problems.
*Save petrol*
Prefer to walk when possible. Prefer
to take a two wheeler out rather than a four wheeler when it is not necessary.
Prefer to use public transport, like on Sundays, as there will not be much rush
out there. Okay, this article might be underrated because there is too much of
technical stuff, so let me save my article. Throwing a coke tin in a trash can
and feeling that you’ve done your part is as lame as your cute crush saying
that India won just because she watched the match! (No
offense girls, I like you all :D )
P.S – This is purely my
perspective. Please share if you find it sensible.
